Big MLM Tip - Stinking Thinking

I do not believe it is human nature to be such cynical creatures, but we certainly are. Rather, this common trait is a product of years of bad programming in our subconscious mind.

Yesterday we talked about the programming in your brain, especially as it pertains to your prospects. Today, we want to take a look into that dark place most of us are scared to enter, our own subconscious mind.

Life has programmed us to be cynical. We are always on guard against the world, and it is all tied to the negativity that we allow into our brains every day. Watch the news, it's all negative. TV shows over dramatize everything and often times pushing an agenda, which is nothing more than adding more negative programming into your subconscious.

Since we are on the subject of television, take a look at the commercials. Advertisers are masters of speaking to the subconscious.  Through carefully planned word sequences, they are able to cut through the defensive programming in our heads, and often do a good job of convincing us that we should by their product over "Brand X". For example, look at that phrase, "Brand X". What is the picture you see? A product with a big X on the label right? This term was designed to speak directly to your subconscious mind. It paints a picture of something that has been X'ed out or X'ed off your list.

So you see, you have been accepting programming into your brain all your life. From television, to your parents, teacher in school, and from your peers.

Are you ready to become your own programmer? Would you like to start overwriting some of the negative programming with positive data of your own creation? Maybe you need to develope a sort of anti-virus program to keep the bad stuff out.

Watch this video to find out how you can learn to tune out the chatter and get yourself focused.

Big MLM Tip - Programming the Subconscious

Your brain is a highly complex series of electrical connections, making it the most advanced computer ever devised. Experiences form memories, which are stored much like data on a computer. Repeated suggestion to your subconscious builds little programs that are triggered to run automatically to certain stimuli.

For example, think of the last time you went shopping for a car. When the salesman first approached, what was your response? If you are like most of us, you are on your guard before you step onto the lot. Once the salesman approaches, you are overly cautious and very careful of what you say. No matter how much you like the car, you will not show it and you are as indirect as possible when answering the sales person's pre-qualifying questions.

These responses were triggered by the subconscious mind, and the conscious mind acted upon them. This is what I meant by the programs that run in your head. Your subconscious, when confronted with the situation, instinctively ran a series of programs as a defense mechanism.

Now, let's look at another example that you surely face almost daily. You get an email or social media message from someone wanting to "share" this "amazing new opportunity". What is your first response? Those of us who spend a good deal of time marketing online see this regularly, so there is some pretty serious programming written in our brains to combat this. Your subconscious immediately puts you on guard. Your first though is likely something along the lines of "Yeah right" or "Not another one of these".

Now think about it, if you respond that way, don't you think most of your prospects are having the same thoughts about your promotions? Sure they are.

So ask yourself this question: "Am I speaking to my prospects conscious or subconscious mind?" Through proper word sequencing, you can override those defensive programs and speak directly to the subconscious.

Need more info on word sequencing? Email me with "word sequence" in the subject line and I will send you a link to a free newsletter series that I have been following. You will learn tips on how to override that programming and speak directly to the subconscious mind.

Remember, you are what you think about. What are you thinking about?

Big MLM Tip - Change

Change, a concept that seems simple enough, yet I have been torn between two quotes containing this word.

  • "When it becomes more difficult to suffer than to change, you will change."
  • "You do not need to change. You are perfect just the way you are."
Here we have two seemingly conflicting statements. Would you be surprised if I told you that both statements are true?

While it is true, that you are perfect just the way you were created, your mindset may need some tweaking. Some people may tend to only focus on the actions taken, and this can help, but if it I'd not accompanied by a change in thinking, it will never last.

Taking the right actions to program your subconscious mind I'd the key. Your actions should focus on this area. This is where personal development can make such a huge difference, not only in your business, but in our life.

I hear stories every week from people who can testify to the power of positive thinking. You see, I follow a study group that digs into a chapter each week of "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. This book is about much more than making money. If the lessons within are applied, you will find it is possible to be happy and content almost all the time. In this study group, people share what they learned from the chapter for that week. It is amazing to hear some of the stories of personal triumph over the same sorts of demons we all face.

Let me take this opportunity to tell you, You are perfect just the way you are. You do not need to change a thing about you. If you are not seeing the results you would like, take a look at your thought patterns.

Over the next few days we will talk more about positive mindset. If you want to get started getting your head straight, come join our discussion group mentioned above. Email me HERE and I will send you the phone number and conference code to call in. Stop by on this Wednesday call and listen in. Invest an hour on yourself, and reap the benefits.

Big MLM Tip - Broke Lottery Winners

How many times have we heard the stories of the broke lottery winner? Someone wins a huge lottery jackpot worth millions of dollars, and within a couple years they are filing bankruptcy. How in the world could someone squander that sort of money?

Broke lottery winners are that way because they did not have the right mindset. Normally it is one of two mindsets that are so ingrained into the person's subconscious mind that they have no idea how to be wealthy.

Some people are so completely entrenched in the employee mentality they have no belief in their own abilities. They have never even considered what to do with a large sum of money because they never believed it to be attainable. All they have ever known is squeaking by on a meager wage. Such a windfall is so foreign to these people that they simply cannot handle it. I have even heard stories about people who donated all or most of their wining to charity, not to be generous, but because they could not handle the stress.

The other flawed mindset of the broke lottery winner is a belief that they do not deserve the winnings. These people have such a low self worth that they place a higher value on the money than themselves. Or, sometimes people will reject such large sums of money for religious reasons.

Why does any of this matter to YOU? Wen you talk to prospects, you are likely to find people with these types of mindsets. When you do, it will be decision time. Do you feel that there is enough of a spark to work with, or will this person never see the big picture? Never prejudge, but be cautious. Spend some time assessing the person's mindset. If after some work, they still do not seem to get it, it may be time to focus your attentions elsewhere.

I do not advocate giving up on anyone. You never know when that "AH HA" moment may come for them, and they will need your guidance when it does. Besides, if you are building relationships as you should, why would you want to throw that away. Some may never "get it", and that's okay too.

How is your mindset? What about the people in your organization? If you want to be able to clear all the negativity from your mind, and learn how to deflect the negative puke that is thrown on us all daily, email me. Be sure to include the words "Positive Thinking" in the subject line and I will get back with you right away.

Big MLM Tip - Insanity

We have all heard the definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. I find it sad, if not somewhat disturbing, that most people know this and do not take it to heart. Here are a few examples to get you thinking;

  • If you keep working that J.O.B., you will keep getting the same pay check.
  • If you work that J.O.B. For 10 years, maybe they will give you a whole 4 weeks vacation every year.

Do you see where I'm going with this? If you want something different out of life, you need to DO something different.

I am reminded of a quote from motivational speaker Skip Ross, "You have, right now, in life, everything you want". Sounds absurd right? Skip went on to explain if you did not have everything you want, you would be doing something about it.

It was 15 years ago when I first heard that, and it stuck with me ever since. You are the only one who can change your situation. Relying on someone else will get you nowhere. It takes continuous effort on your part to make significant changes in your life.

If what you have been doing is not yielding the results you want, maybe it is time to make a change. I urge you to get EDUCATED. Read "Success in 10 Steps" TODAY! It will change your life forever.

Big MLM Tip - Google is Your Friend

Some people do not realize all that Google does for us. There has been a lot of negativity directed at Google this year, with the rankings updates they are doing, but Google provides so many tools for us that we  should realize that they really are our friend.

This post will cover just a few of the many highly useful tools Google provides for us.

Google Analytics/Webmaster Tools:
Everyone who has a website is surely familiar with these tools. If not, go get them set up as soon as you finish reading this post. It is virtually impossible to operate a business online without knowing what your site is doing.

Google Voice :
This is a tool I have gotten a lot of use from. This service will give you a separate phone number to give out to people or add to splash/capture page. This number is then linked to your cell phone number and it will ring through to your line. There are several features, but a big one is, Google Voice will transcribe any voice mail messages and save them on the website and send them to you in a text message.

Google Alerts:
Alerts are a great way to keep track of things on the internet. The first one I would suggest you set up is an alert on your name. If your name happens to be something like John Smith, this may not benefit you much. But, if your name is less common, you can keep track of anything that pops up on the web about you. Set up others on any topic or person you like. This is a good way to see what others are doing, find blogs to comment on, or even find material for your own writing.

Add other useful tools like the Google keyword tool, webmaster channel on youtube, Google sets, AdWords and others, and it is easy to see that Google really is your friend. Not to mention using the standard search engine that started it all, Google offers more tools for your business than any other single source.

Are you taking full advantage of these tools?

Big MLM Tip - Blog Syndication - A Closer Look

The topic of Blog Syndication is something I am passionate about, so let's talk abotu it again today. This is bcecause it serves three main purposes.

First, Blog Syndication gets more eyes on your site by increasing traffic immediately. This traffic comes from others who understand the importance of syndication. Since the purpose for these visits is to share, this traffic is not expected to convert well. Also keep in mind, if many people are syndicating your content, these are hits that will not spend much time on your site, and this will be evident in your bounce rate.

Secondly, Blog Syndication gains you Social Proof. Social proof lends credibility to a site. When a new visitor comes to your site and sees multiple tweets, likes and other shares, they will be more likely to place value on that content. Also, since people rarely want to be the first to do so, seeing that other people have shared the page makes the decision for that person to share easier.

And lastly, Blog Syndication can generate a lot of quality back links helping with your SEO/SEM efforts. Each of these shares is another backlink to your site.

The biggest thing to remember about Blog Syndication is, you must give to receive. If you share enough content, without an expectation of reciprocation, you will start to build your brand as someone who is helpful. This takes time, but if done correctly, can yield some amazing results.

If you want to get started in Blog Syndication, or if you are a seasoned veteran, come visit my Facebook group Syndication Elation. This group is made up of a great bunch of folks who understand the principle of Blog Syndication.

Come over and let us syndicate your content.

Big MLM Tip - Making the Most of Your Daily Chores

Do they still make phones with cords?

In my last post we talked about making the most of your daily commute, while you still have one. Today we want to think about ways to maximize our time by taking advantage of the time we have while doing daily chores.

This is another way I find to stay plugged into the training that is provided to me by the Mentoring For Free system. All those training calls in MP3 format make for good listening while mowing the yard, working in the garage, or just doing laundry. The trick is, taking a mindless task and derive value from it.

I have even gotten on live calls while performing trivial tasks. Now, you have to be careful of multitasking. If you are not focused, it can cause problems. This is only to be done with tasks that take little thought to perform. A few other menial tasks you could take advantage of are washing dishes, folding laundry or even taking a shower if you have speakers.

I have even listened to audio training at work back when I was working in manufacturing and all I had to do was watch a machine run all night. Of course, back then it was cassette tapes in a Walkman.

If you are serious about building your business, try to get creative with your time management. You will be amazed how much time you can find even if it is only 10 minutes here and there.

Big MLM Tip - Making the Most of Your Commute

How far do you drive to and from work each day? If it is more than 15 minutes, you could be wasting valuable time.

I constantly hear people complain about not having enough time to work their business. Managing a full time job, family responsibilities and running a business is a lot to take on.

If you drive 30 minutes, each way, every day, that is an hour you could be putting to good use. If you have a hands free device, you can use this time to follow up with prospects, touch base with your sponsor or even coach your team members. If you do not have a hands free device, either get one or you can try the speaker phone feature on your phone.

Another great way to utilize the otherwise wasted commute time is to listen to training audios. Many systems provide these audios. For example, the Mentoring For Free system that I use has a site where you can download archived calls. I keep many of them on my MP3 player for just such an occasion.

How do you utilize your commute?
