Big MLM Tip of the Day: Overcoming Objections: "I could never do that"


This is the phrase network marketers should fear more than any other. If what you are doing is not, or does not appear to be, duplicatable, you are in trouble. 

Fortunately, this is an easy one to overcome. As a matter of fact, if you are aware of this potential problem, you can be sure, in advance, that people will not have this objection. 

Just ensure them that anyone can do it with the right coaching and mentoring, and then offer it to them. If you want such mentoring and coaching, click the "Mentoring Resources" tab at the top of this page. 

Another way to reassure your prospects is to borrow a line from one of my mentors, Michael Dloehy. "I will believe in you until you believe in yourself."

Big MLM Tip of the Day: Buying Leads is a SCAM


To put it more bluntly, buying leads is a scam, and another reason for so much MLM failure

These so called "targeted leads" or "pre-screened leads" are nothing of the sort. They often times come right off the list of a failed MLM company

More than 90% of MLM companies fail within 2 years. In an attempt to make a little extra money as the company collapses, they often sell their list of distributors to a leads company. 

Sometimes a company will gather a lot of leads from offering huge pre-launch incenties, then never actyally launch. These leads are then sold for a nice profit. 

Do you want to be chasing the same leads that hundreds of other people got from the same list or would you rather start getting people coming to YOU?

Big MLM Tip of the Day: Produce a Leader Today

Are you building a downline or are you building up leaders? Do you know the difference?

Anyone can go out prospecting for leads and grab up a bunch of referrals. If you never follow up with these people, you will never build any relationships. They will be gone just as quickly as they came.

If you follow up, and are there for your people every step of the way, you will turn many of them into strong leaders. Then, that person can take the torch and pass it along to others. 

If you are not being a coach and a mentor, you will not make it long in this industry. 

If you are just getting started, lean on others. Draw from the experiences of your own coach and mentor. If you do not have one, get one quick. To be a mentor, you MUST have a mentor.

Big MLM Tip of the Day: How NOT to Use Facebook

There are a lot of people out there going about marketing on Facebook all wrong. 

They will go to great lengths in filling out their profile, and not put any contact email there. If you are marketing, wouldn't you want people to be able to contact you? 

Others never put anything on their profile except for a link to whatever they are promoting. This looks unprofessional and nobody is going to click that link. 

The most common mistake though is flooding Facebook with your links in as many places as possible. You especially should not post promotional links on someone else wall or in a direct message at first contact. 

Remember, it is called "Social" Media for a reason.

Big MLM Tip of the Day: MLM Doesn't Work... Overcoming objection

Of course MLM doesn't work, if you are using the tired old tactics that never worked to begin with. People have had all sorts of bad experiences in the past. 

The worst part is, negative word of mouth spreads way better than positive. Even if your prospect has never been involved with network marketing before, they have surely heard horror stories. 

I am planning a multi part series covering several of the objections you will hear. Look for this series in the next week or two. For now, be aware that you will have objections to overcome. 

You will need to know what it is about your system/business that makes it different from what they have tried or heard of. If you find that your system is pretty much like what they are complaining about, maybe it is time to look elsewhere.

Big MLM Tip of the Day: It's Not Your Fault

If you have failed I network marketing before, welcome to the club. MLM failure is a common occurrence.


Most of us have. Sometimes it's the company, and often it is antiquated teaching from the upline. 


The proper training, inducing how to select a company, can make all the difference. This does not need to cost a small fortune either. There is a lot of great training available for free if you know where to look.

Big MLM Tip of the Day: MLM is NOT a Sales Business

Fact: Almost all sales jobs have a 60 to 80% attrition rate, before a single sale has bee made. Why would you follow such a failed model? 


MLM is a people business, or more accurately, a mentoring and coaching business. 


If you are trying to sell people, you are setting yourself up for failure. If you focus on building relationships, your business will grow as a byproduct. 


Just know, many of the people you get to know may not join your business, and that's okay. Be just as helpful to those people as you are to the people who join your business.

If what you are doing is not duplicatable, don't expect your team to be getting similar results. 


Be extra cautious of this if you are a whiz with technology. Most people are not, and they will be looking to YOU for help.
