Big MLM Tip - The Real Power in Social Media

Social Media is, without a doubt, one of the best platforms for marketing today. Everyone from the Internet Network Marketer, to major retailers, and even manufacturers of retail goods, is using Social Media Marketing as one of their top venues. But, many people still struggle.

So, just what is the Real Power in Social Media? The real power is in the connections. Having tons of friends, followers, fans or subscribers is a start, but how you interact with them is what will make all the difference.

I have known people with large followings that did not do as well as others with much smaller numbers of followers. In the social media game, the one who does a better job of maintining rerlationships wins. Someone with 3500 Facebook friends, to whom they rarely speak, will not do as well as someone with 500 who maintains regular contact with many of them.

Therefore, the Real Power in Social Media is not in the numbers, it's in the RELATIONSHIPS. Over the next few days we will look at some ways to get to know more people while building your personal "Brand" presence.

My Friends - Tim Villard

A week or so ago, I did a post that included a list of some of the most active members of my Facebook Group, Syndication Elation. The first person I want to mention is Tim Villard.

I first met Tim several months ago now. Since then, he has become someone who I consider to be a good friend. Not only is Tim a good friend, but he has consistently been the most active member of Syndicaytion Elation. He understands the importance of Blog Syndication and has been instrumental is the group's effort to help members get lots of social backlinks.

Tim is a fellow network marketer. While we are in different companies, we both share the same passion for helping others. As the old saying goes, "A rising tide raises all ships", so is the phylosophy of our Facebook group.

I recommend you also visit Tim's healthy snackin' Blog. Much like this blog, he shares daily business building tips.
In summary, Tim Villard is someone you should really get to know.

Why AutoXten can NEVER work

I don't mean to pick on AutoXten particularly, and why it can never work, but it is a glaring example out there right now.

I have been around this industry for right abotu 3 years now. During that time, I have seen dozens of such programs come and go. There is a very simple reason why such programs as AutoXten can and will never work in the long term.

The comp plan is not sustainable.

What does that mean? I will tell you. The promise of the program is, make a one time investment of $10 and sit back and draw thousands of dollars. The people who get in at the very beginning can make a bit of money from it, although they will never see the kinds of checks that were shown in the over-hyped marketing campaigns. This makes it all the more difficult to explain, to someone in the program, why it will not work. They are getting a check, so they think it's working. WRONG!

The quick test is, what happens to the income when the recruiting stops? if the income stops when recruiting stops, the it is not only a bad business model, but most likely illegal. At best, they are riding in a gray area and hoping the feds do not come knocking on their door. Ongoing sale of product is the only way to keep a business, of any kind, in business. From an MLM start-up to Wal Mart, if they did not continue to generate sales, they would not last.

Then ask, why will the recruiting stop? History has shown us why. Programs like AutoXten have a HUGE hype machine going prior to and just after the launch. Most people who are going to join will do so within the first month or two. After that, growth slows to a trickle. A few newbies here and there, that do not know nay better, might get roped into this deal, but otherwise, it has gone flat at that point. So, members have a hard time recruiting, and if nobody can recruit, nobody will get paid.

This is why AutoXten and other programs like it can never work. Their entire business model is not self sustaining. Every one of these companies I have seen, over the past 3 years, has been gone within 2-3 months of launch, if they even launched at all.

I hope everyone who reads this gets this concept. This is one of the first lessons I want people to learn when they look into the Educational program I mentioned not long ago. I am still working on putting that campaign together, so keep your eyes open for it.

Big MLM Tip - Team Motivation

What is driving your team motivation? Do you have to be the cheerleader every month to be sure your team is motivated? If so, how is that working out for you?

Would it not be easier to help each team member find what motivates them ONCE, and not have to cheer them on every month, or every other day in some cases? Trust me, it is much easier.

It is actually simple to do. All you need to do is stress the importance of your partners determining their own personal "WHY". WHY do they want to have their own business?

If you ask most people, their first response will be, "To make more money". It is your job to help them dig a littler deeper. Since only about 15% of the population is truly money motivated, odds are there is more behind their motivation.

So, if you ask why they want to make more money, they may say something like, "To quit my job". That is getting closer, but still not there. Now ask, "So, if you had no money worries, and you did not have to go to a job every day, what would you do?"

Do you see how this process works? You need to keep going until you get them to figure out their root motivator. If you get your people to determine their specific "WHY", they will never stop.

Your "WHY" is what carries you through when things do not appear to be going as well as you would like. It will motivate you to do every thing you can to be successful. Without it, no dream building, image exercises, or even positive self talk will work. Everything else revolves around your "WHY".

What is YOUR "WHY"?

Big MLM Tip - Best MLM Opportuinities - Public or Private?

This is a hotly debated topic in the MLM world:

Publicly Traded or Privately Held?

Some people believe a publicly traded company means stability. Others feel that the priority of a publicly traded company focuses more on the stock holders and keeping the stock prices high rather than placing the focus on the distributors.

I have been in both myself, and I have many friends in each type of company. Either one you choose, be sure to read your Policies and Procedures thoroughly.

Many companies will include a clause allowing them to terminate you without reason or warning. While publicly traded companies do this more often, in case they need to steal some checks to increase stock value, private companies will do it too.

Some even add to that to say that, upon termination, nobody rolls up, and that becomes a company sponsored position. Imagine your largest leg disappearing suddenly. What would that do to your bottom line?

The Policies and Procedures is your contract. Be sure you know what is in it. The Best MLM Opportunities will never include such a clause.
