Social Media is, without a doubt, one of the best platforms for marketing today. Everyone from the Internet Network Marketer, to major retailers, and even manufacturers of retail goods, is using Social Media Marketing as one of their top venues. But, many people still struggle.
So, just what is the Real Power in Social Media? The real power is in the connections. Having tons of friends, followers, fans or subscribers is a start, but how you interact with them is what will make all the difference.
I have known people with large followings that did not do as well as others with much smaller numbers of followers. In the social media game, the one who does a better job of maintining rerlationships wins. Someone with 3500 Facebook friends, to whom they rarely speak, will not do as well as someone with 500 who maintains regular contact with many of them.
Therefore, the Real Power in Social Media is not in the numbers, it's in the RELATIONSHIPS. Over the next few days we will look at some ways to get to know more people while building your personal "Brand" presence.
social media is the wild west at this point and learning what it does for you is essential. Become a better consumer by thinking thru the "forces" that enable you to seek progress, set clear time limits to adapt, learn and adjust. (It is what we do naturally, so no need for terrifying, just take control by making explicit what you want or why you don't want the old solution, and go) Whitney explained why she hires the social media set, but it is different for everyone. the key is understand the patterns of hiring (trial) and usage (repeat), and how the jobs evolve by experience. This is all in the name of progress.
