In today's media driven culture, face to face prospecting is rapidly becoming a lost art. However, those who are good at it are doing quite well with it.
In some ways, it is easier to prospect in person. Being face to face gives you the chance to look them in the eye, carry on a conversation, and really get the ball rolling on building those relationships. Other times your conversations will be via telephone, but you still get a chance to connect.
On the other hand, many people find the face to face prospecting more difficult. They are afraid they will not know what to say, and convince themselves of that. Then, when they actually do meet smeone, it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. Since they are convinced they wil not know what to say, they are right.
This is derived from a lack of confidence. If you need help building up your confidence, I suggest going to fortunenow.com and signing up for Tom "Big Al" Schreiter's newsletter, "The Big Al Report". It is filled with tips on this very topic. Tom built BIG this was, long before the Internet was even thought of. While you are there, check out the 1 minute presentation. Anyone can do this, and it will help you build confidence.
Tomorrow we will start a new series on different methods of offline prospecting.
I always look forward to what you have to share! Thanks!
